Quick update

A whirlwind visit to kathmandu is a chance to let you all know that we’re OK. Communications from the village have been nearly impossible, which is why you’ve heard so little. The past two months have seen a lot of work at the school, and a bit of exploring, too. With some Freeiburg friends, we enjoyed a few days ‘over the mountain’, pony-trekking to an annual festival in Tarkegyang and the summit of Ama Yangri, our local mountain. Shortly after that, Ina went off with Pema and Ram Prashad on a 6-day adventure up to the Ganja La (pass) and back via an ‘experimental’ rout. Ufff! Now I (Dave) am taking 2-weeks off to trek up to the Everest Base Camp. Yippee! When back, we’ll have more visitors and will spend some time here in the city, from where I’ll compose some more detailed accounts of our experiences.

Oh, I nearly forgot the big news… We’re coming back to Germany on July 8th. We’re really looking forward to seeing friends and family again. For now, it’s time to enjoy our final months here in Nepal.
